![]() The Bluewalker 3 experimental satellite application (pending), however, aims to do communication with cellular phones, and gateway stations in USA from the start. And US is not under Equatorial (except maybe Hawaii, uncertain on that). And there is no big rush with that as Equatorial is first. The latter is true for the SpaceMobile constellation approval (pending) as that is just an US market access approval. All moves ao far very measured and thought through and in best intereest of shareholders of which the biggest is Abel Avellan himself. ![]() I don’t expect a change in that behaviour. He has not done anything yet without very clear reasons to do what he did, imo. We have a CEO that put his own money into seeding this company, had the opportunity to just retire but chose to work long hours to make it happend instead. It is timing risks/delays and they are mostly regulatory risks, not technical risks.Īsk yourself if you do not trust managment enough that you can not wait a few extra weeks for a BW3 launch if it is delayed for what ever reason, will you then trust them enough to be able to wait through the ups and downs before the full SpaceMobile constellation is up? I might have said this a doze times already, but the risks here are not primarily technical nor are they binary. You want to keep tgat relationship with the regulator professional and stress free, as more than just a single exp sat licence is in the balance. To give them the time they need to contemplate and discuss without beeing stressed that the fact they are not getting ready in a fast and efficient manner would burn the companys launch fees without actually launching anything. It is more of a courtesy thing to the regulator, imo. Pending not only the time any additional test might take but also the approx time left before approval. If not AST is likely to want to reschedule a bit. So it is quite a significant chance for that approval in this timewindow. That is a very good reason to unbook that flight.įor the Space-X launch my guess is we will launch on schedule if the FCC approves the experimental satellite licence prior to december 1, 2021.īy that date FCC will have had 4 full weeks to contemplate the last thurough answers given by AST to their last question (on orbital debris risk). This is due to primary payload korean CAS-500-2 beeing delayed for an unknown time. The initial Soyuz ride is still delayed, launch date to be decided.
